Yeah, that was my thoughts, too. I had hoped our little busnut community would really rally around this kid, and they did for a while, but things have died down a bit. I think over 100 of you have voted, but there are 882 registered members on the board, and many unregistered (spouses, children, etc) who are also eligible to vote.

Looks like the next closest competitor is catching up. He's up to 144 (up over 20 in 3 days) and Kale is at 187 (only up 5 in the same period).

If you're not voting because you're concerned about spam, then just sign up a free email acount for this, and delete it after your vote is counted. BTW, I set up an email alias for this, and have not received any spam at all from voting here.

I think the rules say it ends Sept 29.  It's not looking good. That second place is catching up fast and once school get in session, it's likely someone from a large school will be able to get a bunch of votes from classmates. There just aren't many people in Kale's school, or the whole Little Snake River Valley, for that matter.

I hate to think we've tapped the entire busnut community already and all we could muster was about 180 volts over where he was when we started this.  The stats say we have 905 members on this board as of today.

If anyone wants a temporary email address for this, let me know. I'll set up a forwarding address on gumpydog that you can use to vote, and then can delete it later on. That way there's little chance of spam (not that I've had any problem from voting on this contest).

Yeah, as I suspected.

The others are from larger schools. Classes are probebly starting up now, and they're able to get everyone in their schools to vote for them.

Kale doesn't have many options here. There's typically only about 60 students in grades 9-12 in the LSRV High School.

Sure would like to see the rest of the bus community rally around this kid.
