Quick update on the progress of my bus.  I started tiling the floors yesterday.  I got all of the Hardiebacker and the initial run of tile down.  I hope to have it finished by mid week.  The pic is kinda crappy (cell phone) but I'll add some more when I'm finished.  I have also made more progress in other areas that I need to get some pics up.  I have installed the black tank and all of the drains and vents have been plummed and I have the rough install of the one piece front door complete (rv door).

That's looking great Brandon!

I like the idea of a "stone" type floor for mine too.  (although on my budget it will likely be a vinyl tile replica).  I like the way it balances/divides the wood.  Don't get me wrong, I have seen some beautiful all wood conversions.  Just for me though I feel like a light stone look floor and a light color ceiling will make it feel larger inside.

Here are a few more pics. Thanks for the compliments.

I chose the running bond to help with the tunnel effect, I had thought about running them at a 45 degree angle but could not bear the thought of all the cuts.  I had considered wood but I have tile in the house and I just like it better.  HTR I got this tile on sale at Lowes for .88 sqft.  I think I have about $400 invested in the whole job which is backer board, thinset, tile and grout.

Looks great Brandon! Sounds like you got a good deal and it will last forever!

We had thought about the real thing, but with out budget we went with Allure from Home Depot, layed it on a 45. You're right lots of cuts, but for us it was much easier than the real thing.

And if we ever have a need to get into the tunnel it won't be too bad to remove and replace.

You are doing a great job!

Great Job Brandon, We also a bit of tile in Mrs. Jones ( http://singinglandcruiser.blogspot.com/search/label/tile ). We are still on the "tile care" learning curve. It seems that after a long trip on a mtn road, items like cans, pots & pans and dishes like to jump out at you after you park and plung to the tile floor. Our tile has lost that battle twice now in 2 months. We will replace them when we get to Ramona Canyon Resort in CA. So keep some extra tiles, you my need them. All the Best, M&C ;D

Hey Brandon,
Looking GREAT!
Are you gonna ever make it back to The Cove?
This years dates are October 5th thru the 11th. The main focus is "eat & greet", just like the last time.  ;D

Looking forward to seeing y'all again!

I don't think we will make it this fall because it interferes with are football travels but we are looking forward to making it back.  Lots of work has been completed since you saw it.  I must be nuts for putting this kind of time and money in an old transit!!

Isn't that why we're called busnuts! We're just trying to help stimulate the economy!

Hey Brandon and Kyle,
Brandon, you need a short shakedown cruise.

Bring the bus and stay a few days.  I can't make it to The Cove this year either.   SOOOO.....  I'm having a mini rally at my place in Dearing, GA, starting about October the 24th until we leave for Hoboken, GA and Ft. Meade, FL on the 29th or 30th.  Jack and Paula will be here and we are expecting Ron & DeAnn DeLong.  Maybe some other guests who shall remain nameless and are in Montana or somewhere out West right now, will make it too.

Everyone is invited, I have water and electricity.  The dump station is about a mile away at the Georgia Fish Hatchery.  If you need a place to hunker down between Kyle's non-Rally at The Cove and The Southeast Busnuts rally at Hoboken, GA you are welcome.  You are also welcome to caravan with us to The Southeast Cruisers rally at Flywheeler Park in Ft. Meade, Florida on November 12,13,14.  We will be leaving Oct 29th or 30th and arriving at the Flywheeler Park in Ft. Meade on Sunday Nov. 8.

About 2 hours East of ATL on I-20 and 4 miles south of I-20.
Got Electricity and Water for 4-5 coaches.  Less that a mile to a
dumpstation.  Stop by and sit a spell.

Attached is a pic of the tile I cut so I can mount my toilet flange on top.

Now you're just showing off!  8)

Nicely done!
So, what tools did you use to cut that?
How many tiles did you use up learning how?  ::)

Kyle,

I cut it using a jig saw and some sesame oil... ::)

...

Actually I cut it with an OMAX Water Jet. It is one sweet machine!
