starting after sitting for 1 1/2 years

Gotta love these old Detroits.... Our starter went out 1 1/2 years ago in Jan. Luke fixed me up fast, but it's cold here in Colorado in the winter. Then last summer with the price of fuel we didn't plan to go anywhere in the bus. Then came the winter again and no starter yet. I finally put it in the starter today. The boss was being MOST insistent. Heavy beast !! ( I mean the starter)
Turned on the batteries and..... One touch and it fired up like it always does.
Also got in an "I told you so"

And of particular note, the batteries were turned off and away she went.

Always a good thing to shut off the batteries when the coach is parked for any length of time.

2 Amp/24V three stage trickle charger and disconnect protected them well.

You got that right....those starters are heavy! 
1 1/2 years sitting isn't a challenge for a diesel.   Fuel should be good too. 
Just make sure that the brakes release, coolant levels are normal...you get the picture!
