Since uncle sam is buying back all gas hogs.  I am applying for a federal grant to remove the old "polulting" 2stroke. and replace it with a modern clean four stroke.

Any one interested in going along with me. I know mister O and the green people will help.

Just think  no more black smoke out of "HUGGY".

At least in California, our buses and trucks that are converted into an RV are still considered to be commercial vehicles-since that's what they started out life as.  If you bought a bus that was professionally converted from an RV shell, then it will be considered to be an RV from birth-and currently will be exempt from smog laws.   Currently, your vehicle (if you own less then 3) will be good until 2014, at which time you'll either have to update to the 2010 engines, or equip the bus with a particulate trap with NOX reduction that also meets 2010 standards.  You can also apply for low mileage usage-which is less than 7,500 miles per year-which would put off the engine upgrade until 2021, but still has to meet the Particulate filter requirements.  The bottom line now is that by Jan. 1, 2023, all vehicles must come up to 2010 engine standards-which means using Urea in the exhaust (except currently for International engines).  Good Luck, TomC

I doubt if M "O" pays for 50 series that thing didn't make it past 2004.
TomC that is what we need all the buses going down the road smelling like fertilizer.
good luck

Of course by 2014, California government workers will be required to take 18 days each month without pay, so there really isn't going to be any man-hours left to enforce the new green laws.
If you're going to be dumb, you gotta be tough.
