Moderator,

What happened to this human interest story?  I can't find it on the board and it isn't in "off topic".  I respectfully request the opportunity to respond to BubbaGal's post in the forum where she made it.  Afterwards, we can take it anywhere you would like.  Suggestions?  One board member has already expressed his confusion and regret for her tone and comment....and that helps, be assured, but I ain't there yet.

Brian and Cliff,

BK had made a second post specifically requesting the info I gave him in his first post.  I commented on his first post prior to reading the whole board for the day.  Follow on comments were made in that post that were uncalled for in my humble opinion and other's.  The second post seems to have been deleted or the post I have issues with have been deleted from the first post not sure which.  Do you know what happened to the second post?  My eyes aren't anywhere near being reliable so a steer would be appreciated from either of you hawk eyes ;D .

I have seen offending posts kept on the board for a time period with a prominent lock symbol displayed.  I take it from that that the moderator sees something "wrong" with the thread or post.  That suits me as everybody knows where you stand and perhaps in that case no response or further response is needed.  Just deleting the thread/post without comment smacks of favoritism and prejudice not to mention high handedness that would be atypical.  I should qualify that with "if it ever happened".

Thank you,

John

John,
Post are usually locked when things start getting out of hand to prevent further flaming, etc.  creating more hard feelings and further flaming (it can easily become an endless cycle and does nothing for the BB)  Jack

Jack,

I certainly agree with you fully.  I could easily imagine a moderator assuming that that post would get out of hand quickly and might do a premptive strike(lock).  I looked for the posts for quite a while and could not find them.  After I asked where they were, Brian and Cliff both updated me.  I didn't think I was that blind but I guess "think" is the operative word in that sentance.  I agree that the flaming serves no constructive purpose and, if anything, the moderators are too lenient and slow to act.  And that isn't a critism of their performance just my slant on their being conservative.  My Uncle Guedo told me to never hold a grudge cause it tiexs your guts up in knots amd hurts you worse that the offender.  He said "once you get your revenge you forget all about it".  A little ethnic humor from Pa. for ya Jack.  Italian Americans know a million of those. ::) ;D ;D ;D

I was emailed by a few Knuts that anticipated my reaction and stated that they believed the other party's comments were out of character and uncalled for.  I agreed on both counts.  I felt vindicated with those comments alone.

Thanks for the info,

John

John,
We try to walk a fine line. If we act too fast, we are accused of censorship. If we wait until an all out flaming war, we are aked "why did you wait so long?" Some days your the dog and some days your the hydrant.   Jack
