Water wetter

With summer coming to the desert, I have been thinking of trying this stuff to maximize cooling.  Has anyone tried it?

I have used it in my Austin Healey and it does make the gas engine run cooler, by a good enough magin to make it worth while for me here in Florida. I can't say how it would work in a DD though.

I had some success with a product called Siloo (?) that we used in the dirt track car years ago. I haven't tried it in the bus but am planning to along with a tranny cooler and checking the seals on the fans and radiators. One learns a lot here. I have learned one thing for sure. Keep those DD's from overheating!! Later

As most of you know, I sell and really believe in Cold Fire fire suppression material.  They make a "water wetter" product.  I was tempted to market it, but got cold feet (no pun intended)

There is a huge difference between the gas and diesel engine cooling process.  With our large diesel engines, we need need special antifreeze with unique additives.  The additives must be kept at a specific minimal level (that is why we need test strips).  The main reason for this is the cavitation issues on the cylinder liners due to the very high combustion pressures.

So, my concern was what the additive would do to the chemical balance of the system.  I did a bit of poking around several years ago and could not find any good information that would calm my fears.  Have not done any research lately. 

I believe the products out there can help cooling a bit, but I am just not sure whether it is safe to use in our big diesel engines.

I've used water wetter for 4 yrs in my 8v92ta, it does help it run cooler.
