I've been having a couple electrical issues and i've been solving them one by one.  First today, none of my ID lamps were working and i kept hearing the flasher click.  After doing diagnosing I had figured out that when shaving the foam, i hit one of the wires and the positive was touching the frame.  So i fixed that, and the ID lamps worked (at that point i was looking for if they turned on as opposed to turn off).  Then i found out that i was having some problems with the headlights.  When the brights were on, only one side would work, and with the brights off, both sides would work.  As i took them out to check wiring, they began working!  So i said okay, and made sure the wiring was tight, and put them back in.

So now, when i turn the master battery switch on, no matter if the key is turned or not and no matter if the ID lamps switch is on or off, the ID lamps are on and i cant shut them off.  Not sure what the problem is

In our DL3 we have a switch that turns just the marker lights on, and a switch that turns the headlights, and marker lights on (regardless of whether the marker light switch is on or not, the headlight switch always turns the marker lights on). If just the marker light switch is engaged, then it leaves the "parking" lights on until the master is thrown...

Something to check out. Maybe your switch was taken out and wire nutted together...I don't know.

God bless,

Mine's the same way as Johns. When I turn on the headlights, the marker lights come on, also. This is typical on most of the MC8s and 9s.

Check to make sure your headlight switch is off.  The headlights won't come on with the battery switch but the markers will.

The headlights would come on with the master dash switch.

Sounds like you may have a bad or loose ground on your headlights. Passenger side. Could be corrosion in the connectors and or stud terminals up behind the bumper.
