Hello,

the PO installed a King Cruise 2500 and said it worked fine. The only luck I have had was getting it to WOT for a few moments while I hold the "accelerate" button and despite my best efforts... shuts down. I worked through the calibration instructions and no luck.

Are these things known for being finicky?
Ok, it's time to go on another road trip.

A King Cruise was the absolute first thing I did to the money pit after we got it home going on 5 years ago now.  And it has been completely trouble free all that time.  I did have trouble when I first installed it because they draw a surprising amount of power.  I had tapped it into a circuit that couldn't handle it and it would pop the breaker and drop out.  By the time I got stopped to check it the breaker would reset so it took a while to figure out what was going on.

And mine has never worked worth a damn as a fast idle control.  It will pull the RPMs up to about 8 or 900 and from there it goes directly to WOT.

RJ- there is a way of installing a shim in your governor so it has a "bump" in it around 900rpm.  I have the King cruise also, and it works great in the morning for warm up at 900rpm.  Good Luck, TomC
