Allison HT746 Temp Sender

I have an HT746 and I am trying to locate a new temp sender. Previous owners must have removed the sender because I traced a dangling wire near the trans to the guage up front. Question is : Is the correct port to install the sender on the lower right(laying under trans facing engine)? I have what looks like a 1/4" NPT bolt there. It is standard Eagle VDO guages in front. Thanks

Temp sensor for ATEC is part of internal valve body harness.
Temp sensor for dash guage is usually tapped into a trans cooler port.
