Old Parts

I was cleaning out the belly of the beast today and was looking at some old parts that had been stored by the PO.  One is an axle bearing.  I would not want to use it even if I needed one of that type since there is no way of knowing if it is good or not.  There also is a fuel pump.  It does not look new, but I was wondering if there is any easy way to test it.  If not, I guess it is trash unless they take cores on them.
