I think the "award" should go to the attendee that can document that their coach was the furthest from Arcadia (as the crow flies) sometime during the three weeks prior to the event.

If somebody leaves from North Dakota in October (and who wouldn't?), it doesn't count.

Enroute side trips are permitted, but do not add to the mileage, since it is computed as the crow flies.

Documentation can consist of fuel receipt, campground stay, toll receipt, etc.

You can start the journey three days before Arcadia or three weeks before Arcadia, but if you are traveling over 1000 miles, you pretty much have to have your sights set on Jack's bash.

I have yet to attend the event (maybe some day), so I am unbiased in my suggested rules.

If you're going to be dumb, you gotta be tough.

Melbo

Like others we only traveled from Kissimmee to the rally but started in New Mexico with the rally as our   destination and then when the rally ended we need to be at work Monday morning back in New Mexico.

So Bob I win

Paso One

Now If someone was travelling the farthest they would have had to pay the most in fuel $$$   right.

Well Bob paid out the most..........   in order to run fuel thru his motor to get Arcadia  ;D

So give him the prize he earned it.

We actually had that discussion over supper tonight - get out your atlas - he's a mere piker in the travel department.

I didn't know that there was a prize ;D ;D ;D. Can we vote? No really, I won't make any further comments on who should get the prize...But if I did I would think BoboftheNorth should get first and Manasst should get second ;D ;D ;D.

But I am not voting.

God bless,

John

Perhaps the equivalent of that auto performance test that measures 0 to 100 and back to 0??

Furthest distance, shortest time between leaving and returning, with the above mentioned so many days/weeks within the event or forget it.

I'm in...!

How about special mention for how far south you can get with snow on the roof...(Toronto, ON to Brunswick, GA for Bussin'05)

happy coaching!

I really like the "imported snow" contest.  In addition to driver endurance, it incorporates aerodynamics, thermal insulation properties, and the luck of the weather.

It will also be a great intro to the 2010 inaugaral coast-to-coast Cannonbus Run.

I've had a couple of requests for photos that I took at Arcadia.  They are posted  here for the time being.  A lot of them need to be rotated & I am simply too lazy to do that - software is supposed to do that but surprise, surprise, Homestead isn't sophisticated enough to know that.  But FWIW, the pix of Melbo do not need to be rotated, he really was horizontal that evening.

Enjoy.

Craig - Whining?  No, it's praise of your talents.  Who else would know that besides your busnut skills, you can make great fudge.  and Jack's right about the beer-butt chicken, but that's a little hard to ship and keep fresh.   ;)

When did I say Whining?  I may have been misquoted.  ;)

Why don't you guys swing through MN on your way home. Maybe I'll see fit to break out the candy making equipment.

Or if you wait till mid-february, I may be going to AL. Maybe I can meet you along the way with some fudge.

Now that this is back at the top of the list I need to address the HORIZONTAL pics

Yes I get horizontal every night but not that early so if you look at the pictures of Melbo please rotate them so I am upright.

And remember I got up the next morning and ran my two miles
