Does anyone know if I can take the metal of the inside front and back of ceiling on a 4107

Pretty sure that is part of the structural integrity of the bus.  Jack

Don't know if this helps or not but I have seen front hump areas of 4107's completely removed and then an eagle cap put in its place. I have also seen the same cap installed and the original ceiling left original.

Are you planning on removing the cap or just looking to change the look of the interior?  The metal ceiling in front follows the roofline quite closely, so besides being able to insulate, there is not too much advantage to removing it.  On my 4905, both front and rear ceiling sections had been left in.  I thought it was neat to still have the destination sign.  Can you tell us more about your plans?

Neither is the aluminum skin on the sides, but it is structural.  Jack

The thin metal in the rear and the metal in the front that you speak of is not structure.
The front I left alone on the sides the center portion I removed foamed the area and reinstalled same.
The rear I removed and foamed the area and never reinstalled just framed the area out with wood and paneling.
Never have had a problem after the conversion was finished.

This has been discussed before here and also on the gmbusnuts Yahoo site.  The consensus was/is that the 'metal headliner' is NOT structural ,it is installed with non structural pop rivets.  I've removed mine both front and back, insulated under them and reinstalled, however in the rear I did modify part of it to allow rectangular drapes over the stock side windows.
