Texas Bus Roundup 2007 New News

Well, TempBus is (barely) ready to roll again, so we're looking forward to seeing everyone, . . . should hit the campground sometime Thursday afternoon.   

Actually, Larry will pull the bus out of the garage early Thursday morning and fill it with water, then he'll hook up the car  . . . .then he will hover over me  as I usher the guys out the door to their jobsites, put out the fires  that invariably crop up right as we are trying to "get out of Dodge", and I'll be yelling my last minute instructions to the poor suffering Margie  as he drags me out the front door yelling, "Come on, let's get going!"

I know the feeling, tomorrow will be a busy day for us here also! Trying to make sure we get it all packed, knowing something will be left behind.

Well Paul, it looks like it is finaly going to happen for you, your first full rally dream is coming true and I just know it will be a success and one we will plan on to attend with our Eagle and not the S&S.  I gotta make a goal here to get done.  Best of luck to you and your planning committee in getting this RALLY to be more fun than you imagined and you got some pretty impressive people attending.  Don't forget Pictures, pictures, pictures!! hehe

Take deep breaths on the way there and during, everything will smooth out and fall in place and the darn time just slips past you and it's over but you'll never forget your first one you organize and meeting these busnuts in person is one experience that never gets old.

We'll be looking for some feedback now when you can but concentrate on your fun with your new friends, the rest of us that did not attend your rally can wait on you.  Oh, Give Christy a hug for me if Larry doesn't mind that is, she is a sweetie you will be happy to know in person and not just from her great post.

Thanks Gary for the words of encouragement! I really don't think we can match your great writings and pictures, but we will try!

We will take lots of pictures, we have two digital cameras! So watch out Texas Bus Roundup Attendees for some candid shots of beautiful faces and of course a few buses too! 

We went to Sam's to stock up on BBQ stuff last night, so I hope you come hungry. Just be safe, we'll be waiting for you, just look for the smokin' BBQ.

Darrin and myself have lots of suprises planned, so bring your smiles and of course beverages of your choice. It should be great fun kickin' a few tires and telling lies.

For those who will not be there, we will share all of the great fun with you when we return.  I will try and keep you posted daily as to who did what and when.

The corral is anxious, the dust has settled, the horses are at the gate. The countdown has begun for the First Ever Texas Bus Roundup 2007!

     Mike Crouch, Richard Locke and myself are going to start the long trip this evening,

it's about 10 miles from my place.  We are going to setup and leave our Coaches over-

night and I plan to be there around 8:00 in the morning.  We are going to set up cones

with your and Darrin's names on them down by the OUT HOUSES.  We did mention that

they do have restrooms, didn't we. HA! HA!

On a more serious side, if anyone needs help or directions you can call me @ 903-815-2141

We have to drive about 260 miles in the morning, leaving at 6 or 7 or 8, depending on if the Boss is ready!

Not sure when we will be there, hopefully around noon, depends on how many stops on the way. We are bringing our two dogs with us, so potty breaks for them and us are in the future. Besides it gives me a chance to stretch my legs and do a walk around.

Topped off all the fluids this morning so we are ready to rock and roll!

And I want ya'll to go easy on us poor work-in-progress converters. (As I walk around and realize the horror of the effluent that the trees above me have deposited on my roof and frantically try to clean enough of it off to qualify to show up in the same neighborhood as you guys...)

I have some black stuff on my roof from when I was in California, it sat under a palm tree. I figure what the heck, just gives me that multi color look that everyone has! 

From what I have read about your posts I was going to be picking your brain.

Here's hoping you can make to any of them. I'm sure we'll meet up somewhere down the bus road! I am really looking forward to meeting you and your wife and of course "Eagle Fantasy".

I told my wife tonight that I want her to fill up her camera with pics., then we'll fill up mine. Should have plenty to choose from, not counting any other picture taking bus nuts! I'm sure we will be deleting some of the more candid shots!

This is gonna be fun!
