Thanks for the nice comments and the tips! I can't wait to get started. Unfortunately Don and I are back on the road this morning, heading down to Newport Beach to check out a charter yacht with three 12V71s that need rebuilding with Don's emission parts. I won't know anything about the engines but I am looking forward to seeing the yacht!

The engine in the bus is silver. Clifford had told me that it would probably be red or blue or something. The previous owner said that it was supposed to have been redone just 80k ago but it is still silver.

I was telling Don on the way home that I think the 96 inch width is going to be just fine for me. My RTS was a 102 but of course it had curved walls so I figure the 102 was the widest part at the bottom. My wife has been very understanding of this bus thing so far. This is my 3rd bus and the most I have ever done to one was take the seats out and then sell it. She says she wants this one completed so we can use it! Yes dear...

Clifford, the front cap did look good on there, didn't it? As we talked about on the phone, we thought about just throwing some temporary rivets in it for the drive home. We were already a day behind schedule because of that crazy ground wire, plus the rain stopped so we just threw it inside and hit the road.

We do have a leaky front seal that we are going to have to replace. Other than that and some minor adjustments, I doubt we will do much to the engine till after Quartzsite. At that point I have to decide if I am going to keep the 6V92/748 or have Don throw an 8V71 in it for me. And if anyone has a B500 or HT4060 laying around, I'll be glad to come get it out of your way! haha

I dare someone to try that with a GM.

Dale, let me know what Don does to make the 92 run. Mine needs a little more. Glad you made it ok, keep the selector pad dry, I just put a ziploc over mine and pushed it back in the hole.

Larry,

Don and I wanted to thank you for the phone time while we were trying to figure out the trans problem. I was really starting to get discouraged! Who would have ever thought ground wire? Just goes to show you how important the little stuff is.

Clifford and Art Wales were also invaluable with phone time.. So thanks again. I don't think Art is a member of this forum though. He has a very nice Eagle though and a very comprehensive build site that everyone should check out - http://www.webcove.com/eagle/
