Ken, on my 644 conversion in a MCI5 I don't remember a spacer between the crank and fly wheel it had one between the drop down and transmission if you put 1 on the crank how is the starter going to engage check you transmission and see if there is a spacer between the 2.I don't know how to reach him but Ron the bus Nut put me in contact with a fellow in NJ that I bought the transmission from and bought the spacer and drive shaft from KIM at AZ Transmissions and that spacer was 15/16.give Ron a call he will have the guys # and I will contact Bob Ward Tue another Allision guru and see if he knows,Bobby is going call me a.m Tue but I believe you are trying to go the wrong direction with a spacer on the crank

good luck

Ken ,if you have the spacer between the drop and the transmission bolt it up and go for for that is all that is required nothing between the flywheel and flex plate because your flexplate has the starter gear built on it and no way would you move it out away from the starter, a little tip for you try and hook the drive line up as install the engine that short shaft is a bitch to install after the fact  good luck

thanks , the drive shaft sure looks short, when i was talking to a dd shop today , i hgave him a prt number for this spacer and it was 600.00 was that the adater he was probably pricing?

Ken, the drop down adatper was 500 bucks when I did mine,FWIW I was told the purpose of the spacer on the tranny was to keep the nose of the starter from hitting the torque converter.I talked to Cole on the board that did the same swap and he said that there was no spacer on the crank only the transmission.Bob will call tomorrow and I'll ask him too   good luck

Ken,Bob called and told me if you do indeed have the spacer between the transmission and the adapter you are good to go nothing else needed but confrim that spacer is there he said he has seen them between the adapter and the bellhousing that people have made also informed me that is not a DD or Allison part they changed the bellhousing to a #2 and the starter for the swap.  Good luck
