Hi All, I have a small problem. Our 1981 Eagle model 10 recv. a little water damage and now needs a new headliner and carpet in the front lounge. Does anyone have an idea how much money this will cost. Our insurance company is thinking around $3,000.00. I am waiting on estimates and feel it will cost sizable bit more. Any ideas??????????
Thanks, Robert at www.tamihall.com

Carpet wont be much and it depends how fancy the headliner is.

"little water damage" is a relative term. depends on how little?  If there was not enough to damage the wood under the carpet, new pad and carpet would not be much. As far as headliner, it depends on what material and how it was installed.  Jack

Along what the others have said;

Do you have to remove items such as cabinets, etc to get the headliner off.  Many are installed first and then everthing else goes in.  This can really complicate and extend a repair time.

The labor is probably going to be the most expensive part.  especially since items have to be CAREFULLY
removed in the process.

I wouldn't settle on a dollar amount on a best guess, you need them to agree to repair any unseen damage after the job starts.  The leak may have been there for a while and just really let loose.

Best of luck.

After removing the headliner check for any mildew. If you have any, a bleach and water solution will remove it.
