We've never had a problem spending nights in rest areas, but we prefer truck stops for the hospitality. ;D
The best thing along the Oregon coast is Casino's-mix a little entertainment in with a relatively quiet night  ;D ;D

We do it all the time.  The only time we heard of a problem, we were already in the only park in the area, It was on I-5.  Christmas weekend down by Bakersfield and there were high wind closures over the grapevine.  They were running all the rvs out of the rest stops.

I heard a rumor that the limit was 24hrs in Texas.

ohio has "campsites" in the back of the plaza's on the turnpike.  $10/nite.  we stay away from rest stops and just use truck stops and walmart/sam's or other shopping lots.  too much traffic of the wrong type and too easy to get side-swiped.  and NOISY.  watch out for reefers at the truck stops, as they are really noisy.

Roger,
Man, I really appreciate that!!!!!!!!!!!! That would be very cool........but...........(and there's always a "butt"  ;))  it looks like we will be driving my truck and pulling a trailer now. (and staying in a feakin motel!!) I just can't trust my bus, or me for that matter.
I have it in the shop right now getting completely checked over so I can tell the next owner all about it. I don't want to sell someone something that they are not totally aware of.

But thank you so much for the offer!!! That would have been awesome. I appreciate it!

My bus is white, I put a Pope Mobile sign on it and park at a church. Its fun to park, sometimes I park at the local police station. Small town race tracks and fair grounds are great. ERAU T shirts and license plate holder (alumni) worked a couple years ago at Daytona. (Just east of the track).

Military or Federal ID in the window will also get you some respect.

Don't get out of your rig half asleep at a rest area. Its easy to step right into traffic. I normally have kids onboard and won't sleep at a rest area because I'm afraid one may get out while I'm sleeping and get run over.
