Well, i did add a spare tire without a wheel so there is about 110 lbs........and a couple of 20 ton air/hydraulic jacks,  and some air tools  and a few more hand tools and a rear view camera and monitor, and a tire pressure monitoring system,  and 5-10 lbs myself :).......so i guess i can see where it adds up but i figured a couple or years ago that we were at max weight because we did not have any more space to put stuff......guess i was wrong! ;D
Used to own a 1968 MCI 5A and a 1977 5C.

Don't know if this will help you, I have a 1976- 5B and looking at the  plate it states  30,500  LBS.

   12.5X22.5 (G) TIRES

    11.5X20.0 (G) TIRES

   30, 280 LBS  WITH     12.0X22.5 G TIRES

                                 11.0 X 20.0 (G) TIRES

  FRONT   12,800
  REAR      18,000

With mine stripped out before the conversion started mine weighed 22,085.

Hope this helps!
