Like Ace said, use an adapter.  Be aware though, it won't power any 220V items you might have installed.  Also when you look at one to buy, read the package carefully.  Some only power one side of the 50 amp plug (I've been told this isn't as common of a problem as it used to be).  They would have something like "Depending on how your RV is wired, this adapter may not provide power to all circuits." on the packaging.

Alternatively you can build your own adapter.

None of the Walmarts around me had the 50 amp to 30 amp converter.  I found one at Menards for about $15.  I did some checking oneline and $15 is a pretty good price.  Mine powers both sides just fine.

hello
i have an 50 amp hook up , which handles one a/c and the rest of power to
the coach. i ran one a/c on its seperate cord and not going thru the breaker box.
the reason was , we hooked up to too many under powered plugs at trade days
and festivals where we were working. i still like the set up so we can at least
run one a/c when this problem shows up.  thanks jt.
