We have moved! We used to live south of the Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge which translates into about 40 miles to the nearest town. We have had our house up for sale & thought we had a buyer as of June  1st. That fell through, but we had already made plans to move into the bus while we looked for another home. Since we had already moved into the bus, we decided to go ahead and finish the little things that needed doing to the house (paint a room, put in a floor in my old office, touch up & spruce up) as it is a lot easier to do when we are not in the house. We "camped" out in our yard while we finished up. Meanwhile, we found a lot with a dilapidated old house on it in the area we want. We convinced the owner to rent the lot to us while our house sells SO HERE WE ARE!!   ;D ;D ;D

Thursday I ran a 50 amp service line. Yesterday I cut grass in a big enough place to park the bus. It was up to my hips. Today I bought a pump & piped it to the well that has not been used in about 15 years. I got water (at least I THINK it's water....) about 9PM tonight. I'm not using it until I get it tested!

I have to work tomorrow but Monday looks like sewage hook up day. That means digging down until I find the line & tapping into it. How much fun can you have ?? !!!!!

All systems on the bus have worked perfectly though. If we buy this place, we will probably live in the bus while we renovate..... although this is more like rebuilding.

Are we having fun yet??

Yes congratulations, it won't be long before the wheels start moving under your new home. It feels good to get rid of some of the things and plan a traveling future doesn't it. Have a great time and keep us informed of that first road trip....

Way to go Tom!

We moved into the bus last fall and promptly left for Mexico.  This spring when we finally got back to the yard at Nipawin it was very confusing for family and friends because we didn't move back into the house.  We've got some renovations to do as well - they will get done when they get done.  Right now we're on our way to B.C. for the summer.  Its great having wheels under your house.

The last thing I would ever want to do is hurt you.

One bonus is that when you go on a trip you don't get there and realize you forgot something since you carry everything with you all the time.  So much nicer not to have to pack.
