depending on gearing quite possible but I bet in the long haul it does not average 15mpg.

yes, 15 mpg, based on the miles that accumulate on its inaccurate odometer...

happy coaching!

Everybody is so skeptical!!!!!    Its very simple, 10 mpg on the hiway and 5 mpg in the city, 10 plus 5 equals 15  10+5=15, get it;D    ps my bus gets 12!!!!!

This is the response I got from him when I questioned the MPG. Being from Parkersburg WV, I really do not know where he could have found much level ground. LOL

QuoteThis is on flat ground not mountain running. It has a 671 Detroit in it. You are welcome to call any GMC dealer that has large trucks. In the mountains my father in law said he never did better than eleven and half. He is older and never runs it wide open. He is sick with cancer. I am not trying to miss lead anyone so please call the dealer.

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body. But rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, a good Reisling in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming:  WOO HOO, what a ride

tekebird

I agree there is not enough flat ground in WV to have him get 15....but cross the river into OH.....I am betting that it is possible.  What tranny does it have is the question...and what rear end.

could get 15mpg but will only climb a hill at 5mph

TomC

Maybe 10, but more like 5 mpg.  I also have a transit, that gets 5-6mpg.  15 would be a stretch-maybe on the flat at 40mph.  Good Luck, TomC

Actually on the West VA Turnpike and all the way up I-77, except for the hills between Bluefield and Beckley and the hill just south of Charleston, before the last toll going North, it is pretty flat!

Pickle,

I don;t think the current bid or the buy it now are out of line.

that is one of the straightest Fishbowls I have seen outside of museums and fully restored seated ones.

15k for a complete running conversion is very reasonable

Dreamscape

I have to agree with Doug on this also.

It looks very straight and clean. You won't find much of any good for that kind of money.

I know nothing about fishbowls but this is one good looking coach.

Good Luck,

Paul

I also agree. Looks like someone put a lot of time and cash into making this a nice traveling coach. It looks very clean and by looking at the details probably well maintained. I think its worth the money compared to some of the junk you see on eBay. It's not for me, but I'm sure there is a dreamer out there drooling

Ya gotta face the truth...

No matter how bad the economy gets, you are not going to get a 1.2 Million Dollar Liberty/Prevost for $2,000.

Even our junky PD4103 is worth $235-$275 per ton as dirty scrap. Cleaned brings it up into the $500/ton range.

Either you are gonna have to lower your expectations or buy what you want and pay the price for it.

You've said before that you aren't handy, so you may be better off finding a Fleetwood Bounder, or a Winnebago Brave that has all your cute bells and whistles.

Good luck, hope you find happiness and joy in your pursuits.

I back up Dallas,

I would say since you are not handy, if you can't come up with 25k  and be fiscally OK with maybe having a 10k bill somewhere along the line ( engine/trans problem) a bus is not for you.

I know of several nice reliable buses in the 25k range which I would expect you would have no problems with for years

you can probably get a mid to late 80s S&S for 5k now days for one with a big gas motor.

there are alot more S&S out there on the market than converted buses, and just about any truck place can work on them as thats all they are are med duty truck chassis with a plywood/fiberglass box built on them.

on the cheap end, this thing is sweet.  could probably be had for 10k after the auction ends.
