Are any of you guys using the Lincoln automatic grease system on your bus.I bought two new ones at auction in Vegas and would like to hook one up on my bus they just need enough room for the 5 gal can size of grease  but I was thinking more in the line of a 2 1/2 gal can size to save space what do think. I hate crawling under the bus to grease it and I know there will be a bunch of 1/8 lines and fitting in the system because the box looks to have a mile of the line and a hundred fitting just would like some input about the system    thanks

When the kingpins are greased, its a good idea to have the front wheels lifted off the ground so the grease can get in there.  and if you grease the fitting on your driveline, you of course can't do that with a permanent grease line.

yea,  the drive line would eat up the mile of tubing in a hurry  LOL. These units came from the Vegas Transit and are used on their buses and I was told with great success but people tell you anything.I was hoping to find someone that was familiar with the system

Maybe its just Prevost where its better to have the fronts off the ground.  :o

Some zerks require more grease than others. The zerks on the brake anchor pins and S cam bushings only need 1-2 pumps. More will put grease on your brake linings. Tag axle bushings can take quite a few pumps. Most others are in between these 2 extremes.  Jack

I don't know if I would trust an automatic lube system. But for those that just don't do any lubing it would be better then nothing.

I think I would try to put a "remote" lube system on. Run lines to a central location and label the fittings. A lot of industrial machinery will have this set-up sot they can lube without crawling in/around/under the machinery.

Personally- I lube the bus once a year, since I don't do but 5,000 miles a year.  It forces me under the bus (properly blocked up) to inspect everything.  When I was driving big rig truck, I lubed the truck at every oil change which was at 12,000 mile intervals.  My first U joint failure was at 850,000 miles-which seems to be an indication that 12,000 miles was a good lube interval. 

I think the auto lube system is a waste of time and effort on our low mileage use buses-just another thing to go wrong.  Get under the bus and lube it, then you'll be able to inspect the under side of the bus at the same time-you'd be surprised what you might find.  Good Luck, TomC

I have a Groenveld on the Freightliner, great for a working vehicle.

I'm with Tom, no need for the $$$ time saver for a busnut, and you need to get under there and inspect that thing!!!!
