I had an exhaust manifold gasket leak between the head and manifold and replaced the gasket. Found the manifold was not on the head square causing the leak. With the manifold on right the pipe from the turbo, too the manifold dose not fit. Got a new pipe and it dose not fit. Now I am thinking the manifold flange is warp to create this problem. Has one heard of this?

Appreciate any Help

Paul,

Why don't you get some photos of the mismatch and come on over. I'll show you how the 8V92 I'm doing goes together... It looks like it'll never fit, but it will if you are patient and have a good bar.

It's possible for the manifold to develop a warp if it's not down tight over a period of time. Usually a trip to the automotive machine shop with the manifold will fix that though.  They can run it across their cylinder head grinder a couple of times and bring it back.

Caution: Taking too much off the manifold could affect the alignment of downstream piping, etc.

Thanks for help last night Dallas.
We found a used pipe with the same part number as the new pipe but it was 5/8" shorter then the new pipe. Had to pry it on but after it was on it moved freely but snug. It clamped up great and I now have one more chore checked off the list.

Thanks to all for the input
