I'll take a "stabb" at it.

The bus is a Crown and the kid is you.

The last thing I would ever want to do is hurt you.
Its the last thing but its still on the list.

Yes and no..

The kid is me but the bus is a 1960 Marman Harrington Skoolie that my dad converted in 1967. Dad said that Crown may have baught Marman.

The next two photos are of a crown that my dad and his brothers turned into a mobile showroom for their refrigeration mfg. company  "Bantam Metal Corp."

Their company was based in S. Phila. and the bus is parked in front of the Philadelphia Spectrum Sports Complex.

This Crown bus had custom Air Conditioning that dad built. If you look on the roof, you will see a metal box that houses the A/C.

Way before RV roof units....

NIck, Marmon is still in business and to my knowledge was never owned by crown.

The specialize in specialty vehicles (primarily 4x4) and custom vehicle engineering solutions.

BTW,  the Repower of the Scenicruisers from twin 4-71's to the 8-71 was done by Marmon harrington

Nick -

I don't think that's a mobile showroom coach is a Crown - most Crowns didn't have split doors, only a single that opened inward.  Front roof and windshields are way different, too, as is the breastplate.

yeah the showroom has some similarities to some other MH units I have seen......but I'm not much up on old schoolies

Hi Guy's,

If you look close at the entry doors on the first pic with me in it and the pic of the Bantam Metal bus, they both look very much the same.

I will have to ask dad more questions about it tomorrow.

So it appears, Nick, that you come by your busnutness quite naturally. That's very cool to have that kind of family history.

I spent my lunch time searching for another picture of my dad's Bantam Metal Bus and couldn't find anymore.

Even on the internet, I couldn't find another bus that looked like it. Anybody have any ideas??

Thanks

NIck I am planning on being at my Dad's tomorrow I will do some research for ya.  Couldn;t find the pics I found online.....have my history set for minimum settings.

i'll see what I can come up with.

Problem is back in those days there were alot of small bus manufacturers around making buses for local companies
