Placement of Vanner Equalizers

I just got done installing the group 31's in the engine bay on my MCI 7, and I'm looking for a good place to put the vanner.  I'm not sure how much water/stuff gets in there and if the Vanner's have a problem with it. 

Now, the old 8D's are becoming the house batteries - do you just put some holes in the wall between the first bay and the battery bay and run wires through with grommets?

In a nutshell, Yes!

I would keep the Vanner in a protected area.

About cable thru panel...run your cable through electrical conduit adapter instead of rubber grommet for avoiding heavy cable weigh cutting grommet via panel's edge.

Get one that is large enough so cable goes through freely.

For each adapter...purchase a matching size "box" nut.

One for each cable and deburr all edges opening.

There is one that a terminal through panel version but only 3/8" stud.

If you go this route...be sure a heavy fuse of 150 or less ampere is before stud because it too small to handle your 8-D's current.
In otherword 1800 watts for 12v or 3600 watts for 24v.

Those suggestions are great.  I think I can use the conduit adaptor since the vanner will be just on the other side of the wall from the batteries and my wiring will be very short.

Prevost put the Vanner in the engine compartment on a semi-protected wall.

You can also use whats called in thr trade a "chase nipple", similar in functionto the plastic adapter in Jerry's [post.

My 95 Prevost came with the Vanner on a stainless steel wall that faces the engine.  One of the factory warrantee change orders moved the Vanner to the wall that faces the tag axle.  I assume its because its much cooler there.

Sojourner can I get those same pics of your electrification?  After I get my tag figured out I have to start on the plumbing and electrical.  I have my 8 batteries, a vanner and a heart 1000 watt inverter.  Just like to see how other people hook up their system.
