GMC Floor question...

OK GMC guys.....and others who might be familiar with a 4108 
  My bus has a second layer of floor that the PO put in. It's 1" OSB over the original plywood. My question is what might I expect to find if I pull it up?? Is there any typical or inherent voids or problems or issues in the original??
  I know, it may sound stupid to consider such a deal, since it's already down, but I REEEEEEEEALLY would like to have that extra inch back. Mainly because I just barely hit my head on the AC's. I know, I know, I should only do that once and "learn" but I think I hit my head too many times and learning seems to be a problem.  Plus, I really like the idea of a different type flooring than the linoleum that's in it. Actually, the past thread that talked about cork has my interest up in a big way. But Pergo may be the way I go.
  Anyway, without really seeing it, am I looking at a big bag of worms if I pull it up?? I do see a couple places from underneath that I will have to contend with, but not too bad.

 may have some rot at the back where the bathroom was......thats the most common issue but can have rot anywhere it got wet and stayed wet from open windows or whatever

There is quite often rot around the wheel wells.

What I did with my 4905 was to raise the finished floor 4" thus leaving about a 3.5" space between the old and new floors for plumbing, etc.  My roof is raised 7".
Look for warping where the baggage door springs attach.  I had to reinforce with steel plate there.

Does your 4108 use the torsion bar system for the baggage bays?  My floors on my 4905 were pulled out of shape by them.  Also, take a good look inside your tool/windshield wiper compartment where the floor meets the wall under the drivers seat.  My window had leaked for years and I had a lot of rot.  I know this area is not where you are concerend with hitting your head, but it might help get a sence of how the rest of the floor may be.  How are your side windows?  Did they ever show leaks? 

I'll never raise the roof on a bus to gain height - I'm only 5 ft tall!

No, I'm staying away from bright red. Just soft southwest colors and tones.

Thanx for the pointers guys. I'll be checking around those spots. I did just pull the back wall down/out and found the rear window/fiberglass panel has had a leak. But nothing too bad.

The wood over the wheel wells is the real issue from my experience.

You can probably see the rest from the bays.

I replaced some at the start of my conversion and am glad I looked closely.

Anything you can't replace after you start building your interior needs to be 100%.

Its the foundation of your house, so to speak...

Plus I hate OSB.....
