Hello, my MCI needs an Allison ATEC ECU. The number is 16074829. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Zeke.

Do you have a core?  I'm pretty sure you can get a rebuilt for under $2k.

Without a core, I would give PEDCO a call in California.  They might have what you need.

No matter what, you'll need to send whatever you get to Allison for programming -- somewhere between $500 and $1000 IIRC.  You'll need the serial number from your transmission so they can put the factory program back in.  You can have changes made to the program for an extra charge.

Zeke,

The next day UPS rebuilder I use is General Diesel and Electronics. They are in Hibbing Mn. The last guy they helped out said he did not get charged for diagnostics, just repair. You can call Randy @ 2182624553.

If you are into electronics enough to know what parts you need they can furnish those parts for your ECU pretty cheap. If you are not they will diagnose/fix your stuff very reasonably and get your parts back to you very fast if you want to pay the UPS/FedX.

They have every part you could need including harness and selector boxes, its their business.

If you proceed this way you will be running by Thursday, will have only fixed what is broken, and will not have any programming or other expensive issues to deal with.

This business has treated me very very well, I cannot believe you would not be as happy with their service as I have been.

Why do you need an ECU??
What model trans and bus do you have?

Zeke,

Sammy and I just went through a bunch (to say the least) of trouble shooting with my ECU.  Between us, we maybe able to help.

Need your transmission model, is it a 741?  If so, it may not be the ECU.  What year is your bus?
