We have a 1965 MCI5a.  Several qualified mechanics have said my steering problems are all in the steering box and slave cylinder.

Can anyone give me the part number for a Ross Integeral steering box that I can adapt to my bus?

lee it would actually be alot of part numbers.....and I am not sure if there is a direct swap in unit....as I am not familiar with the A model Mechanics.

your best bet would to be to get a used integral unit out of a MC-5C or MC-8 or so.

probably make out by buying one of these 6000 MC-8's on ebay and parting it out....likely end up with a free power steering system.

here is a good link on converting to integeral power steering.

MCI integral steering arrived in 1982 during the MC9 model run. Someone chime in with the unit number.

Prior to that had the slave piston.

Conversion does require some strong welding to adapt the new.

Contact Fred Hobe in Madison, FL.  He has one sitting on the floor in his shop and it's looking for a home.

my 1975 MC-8 had integral from New as per the final vehicle record from MCI.

Tekebird, are you saying this based on the kind of steering system in the coach, or from the wording on the final vehicle record?

We may have problem with the use of this word "integral"?

I have not heard of MCI offering two styles of power steering at the same time prior to this.
Doesn't mean it didn't happen, I'm fascinated that busnuts as a group haven't said anything.
