Got to meet several busnuts today Thanks to Paul Hastings.

Paul gave me a tour of his Setra that he is in the process of building. He hopes to start on his slide tomorrow. Boy those bays are huge! He has some great ideas. What a host!
Then we drove to Brian Diehls house and got a first hand look at his engine conversion to Cummins. He sure did it right! His interior is coming along and has done a lot of work on getting the electrical the way he  wants it. The DD 6v92 with trans he pulled out is just sitting in his garage, looking very lonely.
Then off to Craig Shepards to see his MCI, man he has done a lot of neat stuff. You ought to see his tile shower, you feel like you are in an aquarium. His hydronic heating is complex but it sure does the job. Keeps them toasty warm when it is cold outside. I would not have thought of doing that, but it works. Also the pull down ladder to access the roof from the inside, an amazing idea.

I saw so much today my eyes are swimming and my brain is trying to absorb all that I saw.

It was so good to meet with these guys, puttings faces to names. Speaking of names, I hope I got the spelling right, if not sorry guys. I'm tired and I didn't get my nap today. It was well worth it believe me!

Happy Trails,

Paul

Paul,
What the heck? If you were at Brian's and Craig's you were only about 15 miles from us and we could have used your help stuffing the 8V71 back in the hole of our MC-5! Brian was here helping us install the clutch two weeks ago. Just got done doing clutch and associated things like hoses, welding up the engine mounting rails etc. What brings you to Minnesnowta this time of year? Wait another day and we're supposed to have six inches of white stuff. Never mind. Just head south fast.

Geez Fred,

Did not know you were in the area too!

The weather was great today, high of 49. Better yet, no snow!

I am in Faribult doing some work on some new equipment that was installed last year.

I would have stopped by and given you a hand if I had known. Clap, clap, clap! ;D ;D ;D

Seriously I would liked to have seen what you are doing as I have an 8v71 in our Eagle.

Next time I am up this way I hope I can remember to give you a holler. Heading out on Tuesday or Wednesday. I wish we had each state listed with bus nuts names associated with the states. That would make it easy for me, maybe someone else too.

Did you get it stuffed back in?

Hey Dallas
Do you change your frapper spot each time you move on to a different job?
(Actually I'm jealous that you get to move all over the place...)

Paul,
If you haven't left MN yet, you'll have some time on your hands to go see Fred. ;) If it is snowing at the airport like it is at my house there will be some flight delays.

Nope, we haven't changed it when we only stay in one spot for a few weeks to a month.
When we find a spot that we'll be for a few months, then we change it.

You didn't meet with me while you were in town?  I only live like 15 or 20 miles from Brian.

Oh well, I wouldn't have had time anyhow.  I spent every evening and all weekend getiing my house ready to put on the market tomorrow.

Yes Paul,

We got it back in yesterday. Work on Sunday, you'll be fixing on Monday is what my dad always said. (Hope he was wrong)

I sure learned a lot having that engine out; had the rack run and generally checked her out. Only casualty is we broke the fitting on the shut down Skinner valve. But its just a 1/8" brass nipple from the looks of it.

Belfert,

Sorry, didn't know you lived up here in the snow country either.  ::)

I will do better next time! I hope anyway.  ;)

Fredward,

Glad to hear you got 'er in.

It's snowing here right now, glad I'm leaving tomorrow morning. ;D

Heading to Vancouver WA on Wednesday.

I'm suprised Brian or Craig didn't mention my name.  Oh well, as I mentioned I was busy all last week and this weekend getting my house ready to put on the market tomorrow.  I need to get off the computer and finish up a few final things right now.

If I remember Paul Hastings did mention that another busnut owned a Dina. It was a lot just to meet with these three guys and go see their coaches all in one day.

Next time I am up this way I will look you up. I'm always up to meeting other bus nuts.

It was good to meet and talk to you. You know you're always welcome here. Next time try to come when it's warm and we can spend
more time enjoying the bus conversation and maybe share a few brews.

One day this spring, I'm going to make a point of going down to see Paul's project, too. I'm working in Burnsville now, so I'm more than half way there. Maybe some Friday afternoon.

Great Craig!

Just give me a heads up to see if I'm aorund. It would be great to share ideas and spend more time doing so.

Brews will be ice cold.

Speaking of cold, it's been snowing here most of the night and I have to catch a plane. Roads look clear so I'm going to give it shot.

Stay safe and warm,

Paul
