I went back to day and got the genset ruining.  I don't know how the glow plugs are supposed to work.  I hot wired them and it started right off.  Thanks for the advise, I had not seen them before.  I looked and was able to find them but they are on the back side and a little hard to see.

Thanks for the tip on them I had completely forgotten about glow plugs been so long since I have used them.

I was holding the hot wire to the glow plugs and my dad was in the coach pushing the starter button.  When it started it blew the dip stick out and blew oil all over me.  I found the dip stick about 6 feet behind me.  Took a few minutes to figure out the breather on the top of the valve cover was stopped up got it cleared and the dip stick would stay in.

Still gathering parts for the fuel system, and trying to locate a manual things are looking like they might get easier as I go along.  I talked to my Dad and we figure that it is going to take some time to figure it all out and get it right.  My cousin is going to drop by and look it over he is a DD person.

Here is a picture of it next to the trailer the wife does not care for because it has twin beds and rear bath so it would not be easy to convert to a large bed.

Bob, there should be a toggle switch by the starter switch on the inside of your coach and most have a panel with 2 switches some where in the generator compartment one for pre heat and one for start  your doing good

Bob Gil

yes there is a panel with two switches on the dash but one turns the power on and the other only rocks one way and it is the starter, But then again it might roch the other way I don't remenber trying rocking it down just pushed the top of it.

I wish it were closer so I could keep running out and checking things.

i just talked to man dad and he told me that I was right the first time when I said the return did not go to the tank it went back to the fuel pump.  I hope to get a manual for it soon.  Mean while I have to lines to the back of the fuel pump on the back of one head.  One comes from the fuel filter, and the other comes from the back of the head on the other side on the engine.

you are definitly making progress and from what I can tell by following your adventure I think you will have her up and running smoothly soon. I dont know how far I would want to go without the manuals or someone there that is really knowledgeable as you do not know if the things you are repairing or replacing were hooked up correctly in the first place. having had the fire and someone rigging up who know what to get it going they may have done some things backwards. On my bus I ran into a few items that were so poorly rigged that it probably took them longer to make it wrong than it took me to make it right. with the manuals you will know what it should be rather than guessing if they did it right. plus it will take far less time in the end. I ripped out all the wiring in mine and built a new harness. it took about the same time as trying to fix all the half-a$$ed repairs others had done.
keep plugging. you got things running so you are already ahead.
