4103 rear windows

Hey Folks,

This past fall/winter I took apart the rear "lounge" of our 4103 to gain access to the engine access hatch. In the process I had to take down the wall coverings, too. What I discovered, to the joy of both Natasha and I, was that our coach still has the original rear glass and "D" shaped quarter windows in place. They have been skinned over on the outside, though.

The rear windows appear to be intact but covered with peeling tint, but the "D" shaped rear quarter windows, the last windows on both sides, are broken. Does anyone know where I can get new glass? My PDF parts book doesn't have a reference number/part number for them, but it is listed in section 25.5740 Glass - Rear Quarter Window, and shows they are the same for 4101-4102-4103.

Also how about a source for the rear glass, Left Side PN: 2286706, and Right Side PN: 2286705.

Thanks,

- John

John,

Those are flat glass and will probably be cheaper to have cut at the local glass shop than try to find originals. Besides, you can have the glass as darkly tinted as you want.

Dallas,

Thanks for the info! I'll contact a local glass shop. Now We just have to figure out how we want to cut away the skin on the side of the bus. The back appears to no more than drilling out all the rivets. What's under the metal that we are removing is what concerns me. It's always an adventure!

Cheers,

Glad you're exposing the 4103 rear window again, I think they look much better than the caps and it makes the bedroom much lighter and open.

This caught my attention because I just replaced all three rear windows on my 4104 and it was not an easy job.

I would have lost money betting that the 4103 and 4104 rears are the same! Of course I thought the 4104 and 4106 are the same too but found out the 4106 rear is quite a few inches taller.

You're lucky they are all flat glass, the 4104 is all curved and no longer available new.

However. the windshields are another story. My understanding is the 4103 front is impossible to find but the 4104 front is easy to find new? Go figure!!

Very true. 4103 windshields are made of unobtanium. Or if you can find them you don't want to see the price. There is a guy with a vintage ePlace store that claims to have one. Yep, just one. It's been for sale for a while and the price hasn't moved, up or down. He's in Orange, MA (mid-western part of the state) not too far from where I used to live...
