Oil Filter

Hi, all I've just inherited a 1985 eagle model 10 that is in great shape. While changing the oil, I looked for the oil filter and didn't find one. I see the fuel, primary and secondary filters. Where could this oil filter bee? I've been top to bottom of this bus....Help !!!!

Psst. Unless it's remote mounted it's on the engine.

 If you have a 6v92 it's on the right side by the transmission. In the picture it is the long white cylinder hanging down.

I have seen Eagles with remote mount filters located under the battery inside the door and also at the tail lite door where the power steering filter is located  good luck

In addition to luvrbus' comment, the normal place is on the driver side of the engine beside the oil pan. If you have a muffler there, look up between the muffler and engine oil pan.

On my 8V-71 and V730 the oil filter is remote mounted between the engine and rear axle for easy service when over a pit-like what a transit company would do.  After the original filter broke and I found it was almost impossible to service, I took out my radiator and then the remote filter was easily accessible.  I then had two stainless braided lines made up so that I could mount a new spin on filter (the old one was a canister type) on the right side of the engine compartment just inside of the right side transmission access door.  Now easy to get to and service. 
Looking at the front of your engine (where the fan pulley is considered the front of the engine)-as you're looking at it look at the left of the engine below the cylinder head and you should see the engine oil cooler.  Typically the oil filter should be either mounted directly to the engine or you'll see two large oil lines coming off of the oil cooler to the remote mounted oil filter.  Good Luck, TomC

I found it, It was on the right side of the transmission next to the trans filter. Just needed to crawl a little farther.....

You keep you bus cleaner underneath than I do the uptop part   That is the cleanest engine I have ever seen that was run at least down the block.  Is that one of those MYTHICAL DD's that doesn't leak oil?  Is it all tuflawn koated?

 Thanks John.I have no leaks in the DD I do have a small  leak in the transmission tho. As far as the slobber tubes goes i installed The tank from DD about 8 years ago, glad I did,  Here is a couple of pictures of it.

I've had it for 8 years now and drain it once about 3 years ago and got just a little bit of oil. It is vented through the drain plug at the bottom of the tank. It's about 1" plug with a center breather that goes up the center of the plug about 3" It acts as a breather. Boy I hope I explain it good enough to understand.

Thanks Pete.  I didn't quite get the breather or vent part.  If I read it right, it the breather, or vent is part of the drain plug.  I am not understanding how a vent can be on the drain which I assume is on the bottom?
