Since no one else has responded to this one, I quess I will.  Isn't the asking price a little bit high?  Just wondering.  :) :) :)

If it was a low mileage 14L with a B500 Allison it would be a good buy but not with a 750 transmission

It would hardly be a buy with a B500 tranny.  Ebay has a 14L Series 60 supposedly with half of a 500,000 mile warranty from Detroit remaining for $13,000.

Belfert, have you priced a B500 without a core to exchange

belfert

No I have not priced a B500 without core, but I know MCI sells reman B500s exchange required for $10,000 to $11,000 and they probably are not the cheapest place around.

The Allison World 4000 series trannies should work in a bus as the B500 is basically a 4000 series tranny.  There are a probably more 4000 series trannies out there in motorhomes, garbage trucks, straight trucks, and the like than B500s.

Regardless, the price for a HD750 tranny and a Series 60 is really high.

Just so you all know, at my Freightliner dealer I asked what a factory rebuilt Series 60 costs with a 3yr/300,000mi warranty- thats $16,000-and you have to have the old engine to switch the parts from.  A brand new in the crate Series 60 is $65,000 ready to install!  So $24,000 might be a bit high, but if it has all the electronics, trans shifter, gas pedal and wiring with it, it isn't such a bad deal.  Good Luck, TomC

PS- got a general price from Pedco to change out my 13spd transmission (in my truck-and its' a cabover which is the easiest to work on) to an Allison HT740- $10,000.  If I use the Allison HD4060 (like the B500)- $20,000 installed.
