Need help!

I think I know the stuff you are talking about. Instead of the traditional "hook & loop" design, both sides of the fastening strip have a collection of pins with mushroom shaped caps.  I don't know if Velcro makes a version of this, but I am aware of a product made by 3M called "Dual Lock".  The link below takes you to a technical datasheet which gives specs.

I am going to check out the Velcro type Dual-lock also.

I have 1/4 plywood already screwed to the overhead so Dual-Lock maybe the way to go for me

Ok I like the idea of the dual lock as I have used something similar before only it was called Bull Dog and I couldn't find it anywhere but the DL is exactly the same. Problem I see is it would be great for using on luan as Nick did but it would be one layer. I was looking at doing something silly and try multiple layers in a design of sorts in the middle including some acrylic mirror and fabric mixed in with the vinyl. I will have to think about it and maybe I can come up with a solution for my needs! Also the plywood would  hold lights if I so choose to install with no problems of breaking loose.

Yea. Thats the stuff I was talking about. Now I wonder how it is attached. Does it have an adhesive back or do you have to use some kind of Silka?

I'll get the digital camra out tomorrow and get some good clear shots for ya's.

The Dual-lock also comes in round disc's of many sizes. the disc's have holes in the center of them to insert small screws.

All I need to do now is the two sides and that room is DONE! :-) Oh and the two sides will overlap the main section on each side by 3 iches to give the ceiling some dimension. In other words the center main section will have a raised effect from the sides!

More pics added this morning after installing a side panel which was a LOT easier than the center panel. Also you can see the step I was referring to that added some dimension instead of being just flat. It just overlaps the center section! Thinking about putting some colored upholstery rope inside the mirror cut-outs around the perimeter to hide some of the reflection of the back side. What do you think? Then maybe use some of the same colored rope as an accent on a valance to bring it together. I don't know!
