What would it take to convert a 5.9 Cummins CNG engine to diesel.  I suspect it's more than it's worth but I am curious.  Any help appreciated.

is this 5.9 in a bluebird in California ????

Why reconvert it to diesel?

just put a large high pressure tank in to get more range

I think but am not sure that while the mills were/are based on similiar parts, just about the entire engine is different.  The CNG engine has a magneto? (I think) plus lots of other differences like a fuel mixure gismo instead of an injection pump/injectors.

At the very least you would need to change out the pistons, head, injection system, computer (?) add an entire diesel injection system, fuel delivery system, fuel lines, fuel tank, etc., etc..  Anyway, you kinda get the idea?

Having said that, could/would it be possible to convert it out to run propane instead of compressed cyro-gentic natural gas?  Still would have to change out stuff, but if the coach were inexpensive enough to justify it???  Hummm.  :) :) :)

Actually, it's a Thomas pusher and the 6700 total miles got my attention, but I'm over it now :)

Good for the block, and that's it.

CNG motors, as noted, different pistons, heads, fuel delivery.

Better to find a donor motor and try to sell the wreckage to someone running the same equipment for scrap money.

Some unknowing folks had stars in their eyes over the L10 CNG's up here...

happy coaching!
