Stove cabinets and fire clearances

Is there a minimum space required around a standard RV stove for heat/fire saftey?  Particularly at the sides?  I am drawing out my kitchen and need to take this into account.  Thanks!

If using an RV type stove, no clearance is needed.  But-check with the requirements from the manufacturererer.  Good Luck, TomC

I just went through this with my kitchen remodel.  I consulted with the Home Depot kitchen designer and HE SAID THAT 24 INCHES SEPERATION was code.  I installed my over the stove cabnet at 29 cause that looked better with the hood installed.  Code is 30 inches and the inspector would not let that one inch slide.  The cabnets on the side need 18 inches and I missed that by 1/2 inch and they had to go also. @#$^&%*^&*!   You'll never guess who GLUED AND SCREWED his cabnets to the wall cause that was stronger and "they will never have to come down in my lifetime"?

That is housing code here in ORYGUN.  I think you need that clearance to make using the stove convenient anyway and safty at home is where the heart is.

The installation manual that come with the cooktop/stove will give all the minimum clearances for that model.  Jack

The stove is coming out of an existing trailer without any manuals, of course!    I think I'll just duplicate the installation and expect that it was factory installed to code.  Thanks guys!

What brand and model heater are you installing?

A lot of us have manuals saved from old campers and RV's that could be scanned if needed.

Maybe someone has the one for your needs.
