Looking at teh WORTS has made me wonder what Thomas would look like with a driven front axle and super singles up front...I mean, could it look any stranger than it already does?

The only difference between a garbage truck and any other truck/chassis is the garbage bed bolted on and the power takeoff - unless it has been used already!

A guy in OKC is converting a new Freightliner long wheelbase chassis into a 45' MH. This thing is huge and first class all the way.

My thoughts exactly, it is hard to say what it will bring given the uniqueness of the rig, hopefully over 50K, but I bet whatever it brings, it will be a real deal compared to what it would take to duplicate it. Doug

  Can not believe what this unit just went for.  Checked out this unit over a year ago and thought it would go for more.  Very sad for Ross.

Well, I am very, very sorry to say that the bidding just ended, and, despite the best efforts of Spanky Assiter, the lot was hammered at a mere $44,000.

I know Shahn and Ross have more than ten times that amount in it, and I know they were hoping for (counting on?) a higher sale price.

Someone's got himself a real bargain at $48,400 (including the 10% buyer's premium).

To me, watching the bidding stall in the 40's was just sickening.  The lesson I am taking away from this is that Barrett-Jackson is absolutely not the right venue for custom coaches.  (The mutli-million dollar fetch, a couple years ago, for one of the Futurliners can be chalked up to the fact that the Futurliners, as part of GM's marketing efforts, are a part of automotive history and thus of interest to collector-car junkies, museum curators, etc.)  Any smart ideas we may have harbored about selling Odyssey at Barrett-Jackson, when the time comes, are now banished forever.

Our hearts go out to Shahn and Ross, who are already struggling.  This has just made their lives that much harder.

Borderline unbelievable is more accurate in my opinion. While Draco undoubtedly had a special appeal, it's intrinsic valve goes far and beyond the sale price.
  I just went to the Denver RV show last weekend and saw a person getting ready to buy a slide in Bogfoot 4 season camper for $43.5K...a slide-in!  As far as I'm concerned, this is a proof that while many at the BJ auction may have the bucks, all their taste in in their mouths. Maybe it was the wrong venue, but I shudder to think of how may people the rig was exposed to, it only takes two to make an auction

part of the problem of that thing, although I can appriciate it....it really only has a place in Baja Mexico.

Probably rides like dog poop and gets MPG about the same as if you were buring dog poop for fuel.

My Buddy's Custom COach clipper brought 120k something last year......

the Custom Coach landcruiser this year was just a sad example and the owners spent little time making it nice.

Watch the vegas Auction as another Custom Coach Flxible will be sold there.
