Has anyone ever looked at the demographics of this group?
I was wondering the average age but also location, it seems like the vast majority of folks are east of the Mississippi. From there I wonder how many in the southern states, eastern and northern?

Seems those of us in the west are sort of isolated......of course I like that, less crowded!

Down side is that I'm alone in SLC....that I know of.

Hi Paladin,

If we were able to get more of our members to sign up on the MAK Frapper Map, we would know better numbers.

I'm from SW OR and I do not like crowds either; just driving to the "big city" of Medford OR bothers me.  Maybe they call it "agra-phobia" or somethings like that.  Give me a small town anytime!  :) :) :)

Paladin

Yep, agoraphobia. It's the fear of crowds and I have it.
Put me in a large group or crowded place and I'll be looking for a way out. Even here in town it's getting too populated for me although I like being out and about....for a while. We almost moved to Florida until the bigger fear of hurricanes put an end to that.

With the fear of drifting WAY off topic..are there other nice fancy long-winded words describing various things that we are afraid of?  Of course it would  ABSOLUTELY have to do with the employment of our coaches.  How about a word describing the fear of having your Jake Brake fail....in a crowd...with a bus.  Hummm....how about an-faked-braked-Jake-akro-phobia?  He he he.  Oh gosh...hope we havent't started something.  :) :) :)

How about population 270 in a California town?  Every town is 17 miles in all directions.

The "state" highway in front of our proerty is 16' wide and no center line.  Road so narrow and twisty that the USPS won't deliver here, but UPS and FedEx will; go figure.

Minimum parcel size 20 acres, most 80 and up.

Way more cattle and horses than people.

Quiet.  Lots of deer, coyotes, rabbits, bob cat, skunks, possums, eagles, herons, etc.

No cable, no TV except local channel, but since we haven't had a TV since the early 80's who cares?

Yes, we enjoy country living.

Keep on bussin' and truckin'

Since this hobby isn't climate related like snow skiing or surfing the population spread probably determines the number of busnuts.

I bought 3.5 acres next to my daughter and grandaughter. I built a driveway in a J shape so you can't see the bus garage from the road (no house). It's so far out in the country the Grand Ole Opry doesn't come in till Sunday morning

I'll get moved someday. But for now I like living less than a mile from Lowes till I get the coach finished.

Well, I'm from Minnesota and I personally know of 8 different "bus" people within a few hours of my house.  So, I think it is all about location, location, location!   :)

Well....  I used to be on frappr.  I looked today, and it has removed my pin.  My account is still there, but I couldn't figure out how to get back on the map, so I gave up.

One problem with the frapper map...

If your pin is in the same spot as someone elses,, then your pin is under theirs!

This is also a problem with my pin. Bruce Knee's pin is over my pin.

Speaking of phobias, here's a valid one:  fear of bridges or of crossing them is gephyrophobia.
