The power went out here for a few hours when it came back on I forgot to turn my smart charger back on. My ProHeat 12 volt my zone valves 12 volt ran down battery bank. I didn't check to see how low I just turned it on for a 40 amp charge. My question is can I put some kind of warning light in that reminds me or lets me know if the charger is turned off?

You could,,, but I'm guessing you will never make that mistake again.... ;D :'(

Dual pole relay switch...Where when the charger is on the circuit is off. Wired to
the 12v light of your choice.

Charley, well I am sure that a light on your inverter would work or you could just come on down here where we turned the hearter off 2 days ago and the windows are open well you get the idea hope that you all have a great new years and wish the whole gang was here with us  Mike

I'm hoping you didn't freeze your batteries like it looks like I did to my starting batteries.  My new Group 31 batteries all have bulging cases so I'm guessing they are frozen.  My batteries were at 21 volts when I last tried to start the bus about a month ago.  I should have changed them right away I guess.  I charged them last night, and they were only taking 5 amps, but they did get back to 24 volts by this morning and started the engine today.

I really need to find a three stage charger I can leave on the batteries when not in use.  I might be spending another $270 for batteries not even a year after buying new ones.

Hi Mike & Kathy,

You go ahead and rub it in.....
Remember a year ago today, we were cruisin up 95 near Daytona and I thought I blew a radiator hose but you and I
found out that it was the Condensation water gushing out of the drain ports from using my OTR air in the hot weather.
OOPH...
Have fun guy's!

Mike, I turned my heat off this morning and won't be turning it back on tonight either. It's pretty warm here now that you gone  ;) and it's getting hotter by the minute working for your best friend Walter  ???  He went and bought the plywood to finish the ceiling 4 days ago and me and Bruce had to cut it and clamp it up and he still hasn't screwed it up yet. Just leans on the saw or work bench in my way. I hung his cabinets on the drivers side wall but he still has the ceiling just clamped up like we left it yesterday. You know the drill, but his cabinets look great.

You can have a battery volt meter inside (mounted in panel) of your living area to check if charger is on or off. You would notice not on if not over 12+ volts.

I think I'm going to hook up something like the lights in commercial buildings for when you have a power outage. This has happened more than once where for some reason my charger had been shut off. When power comes back on it does not turn back on.

Sojourner

For power drop out & on.....get a cheap 110v ac digital clock that will flash without back up battery. Other words leave out battery in clock so when power interrupts...it flashes.
