Need more money. I want to get a deiselcraft centrifuge before I go much farther. I've been busy working on everybodies bus but mine lately. I'd like to talk to you on the phone some to get a few answers to some questions. I want this to be right the first time as there's no room for error with my motor.

Ron;

I won't always answer but you can call me at 888-473-3626

Charley,

I, too have been hanging back waiting for your results.  I've been cruising the wvo boards and read the 108 page Diesel Craft encyclopedia over there.  It appears Sunwizard has the technique perfected.  Cgoodwin is the only guy I know who is running his conversion on wvo and has a few pictures, but as you probably know, he sells the Frybrid kits and is up to his ears in orders for pickups, Mercedes, and Jettas.  There is just very little info out there about success or problems with 2 stroke DD's.

I'll keep watching.

Hey Guys,
Altho I swore off posting about alternatives, I thought I would throw out that Homegrowndiesel runs his rig on WVO. Good guy too. Been doing it for awhile.
I'm with Charlie... I want to get the Dieselcraft centrifuge up and going first. I was also checking out two other centrifuges, but all things considered, I think I will be going with the Dieselcraft.
It will be two fold as I got an old heating oil furnace that I am working on converting over to WVO also. But I am still doing a little surfing and reading about doing it to the bus. I don't want to waste a motor either. There are plenty doing it with great success. I would like to be one of them.  ;D
By the way, from all I read, Sunwizard sounds like he's got it together.
If you guys want to get more info, maybe we should meet over on wvobus and se if we can't get some more info over there. (birds of a feather....) There hasn't been much chatter there lately.
  Later,
  Chaz

Well if I get to finish this bus I'm working on I will be back on track with my WVO project. By finish I mean get the rest of the work in the bus as I was only hired to do the kitchen/living room cabinets. I just sent a PM to SunWizard asking for some help and info on how to set up a centrifuge for onboard processing. Or I may just build a system like they sell from dieselcraft by using their centrifuge and gathering my own parts for the rest of the system like this one that I can use on site and store in a bay.

Either way I am determined to get this up and running soon. I will be contacting Don and asking for advice about hooking into the engine as not to mess with my DDEC. I will keep you posted on my progress.

Charley and others,

Can that bio be added to your regular diesel and run like normal?  I heard that bio has a short shelf life and the chem difference works on the seal materials in the fuel system.  If I were there I would be happy to use bio to run my genny and hydronics.  I am with those of you that are having heartburn with risking the main power plant even if it does come with good recommendations.

Thanks,

John

And also,

Where can I read upn things like "just what is a centri." filter?  I have a hunch what it is and that the spinning stratifies the liquid faster than settling.  What are you getting out of the prefiltered oil?

Thanks,

John

Bio can be mixed with your regular diesel but I am going to be running WVO or straight veg oil not bio.

Charlie,

I did find the site with the centri info.  Sorry I missed that.   It seems it is a superb way to get rid of solid contaminants and it boils off water.  I read till I was blurred so bad I was leaving nose prints on the screen....and all about BIO diesel.  And what a process it is.  I'll read some more tomorrow.  Thanks for the help and the great topic.

I learned that a centri. filter usually sells for $250.  Also, that Ebay has them for $125.  That price is expected to rise as the demand continues to increase driven by high fuel costs.
