Back window gasket for GM4106

Looking for a back window gasket for a GM 4106. Anyone know where to look.

Since the OEM gasket, as well as the window glass, is now made from unobtainium, you need to get creative.

You might check with an automotive glass company. There is a possibility that by using a cross-section of your old gasket, they could come up with some matching material from one of their suppliers. It wouldn't be molded in one piece like OEM, but you could probably get it to work by using individual pieces combined with sealant at the joints.

Now you see why so many of these get capped. . . sadly.

Isn't the 4106 rear window the same as a 4104?

If so they are not hard to find, I got one from Rich at IBP last year.

No, they're different. The 4106's is considerably larger. Take a look at these two photos taken at the SF Greyhound depot back in the late 60's. One has a 4104 parked to the left of a Scenicruiser, the other has a 4106. The Scenic's rear window is very similar to the 4104s, so it's easy to compare.

04 rear glass and gasket is also made of Unobtanium.

If you feel like being close. I have some Fishbowl/4107/08/4903/5 gaskets that you could cut apart and be fairly close .

they have the same gasket profile

Don't know if he has any more of them but I got a NOS rear window gasket for our 4106 from Dean's Coach back in Apr of 06. Not cheap 246.50 to the door.

If I'm seeing the right ones the 4106 appears to be almost twice as tall!

Is it three piece like the 4104, I can't really tell in the photos?

They are three-piece. If you click on the photos, they will enlarge so you can see the detail a little better.

Thanks for the link to Fairchild. That's a "bookmark" one for sure. I'm speculating that if one were to send them a sample cross-section of the gasket and the required length, you'd get a response and cost figure. Chances are it wouldn't be molded together like OEM, but by sectioning and using something like the RTV sealant Dan mentioned, you could solve the problem.

I bet through Fairchild your cost per foot would be as much as cutting up a Fishbowl or Buffalor Gasket.

Unless it is something they have in stock.

and you would likely not have the curved sections so a likely leak location would be inherent
