I was planning on keeping the luggage rack lower back brace in place for extra roof an sidewall support, but I could use some extra room for the side isle.
does anyone have any input as if it would weaken the side wall of the bus ?  The side isle is 22 in. wide and the inside walls are of 3/4 in plywood and a tight fit between the roof and the floor, also angle brackets at the top and bottom edges .  THANKS TO ALL IN ADVANCE  Dwayne

If your talking about the support brackets that heal the luggage rack in place you can remove all of them completely

When I bought my '8 the previous owner (coach line operator) told me the luggage rack framing was essential for structural reasons.
I checked with a major bus converter in the US and he assured me that the whole lot could be taken out.

So far -- despite some very corrugated outback roads - so good.

My bus was a bare shell and I mean bare with a roof raise when I ran it off the road at my parents house in N.C. it took 4 wreckers to get it out. The drivers side steer tire was off the ground 3 feet. It was tugged on from 3 directions. If it were ever going to come apart it would have then. Don't believe all those "Train Drivers" and "Old Timers" Your bus is pretty strong so one piece of metal will not send it falling like a  house of cards.

luggage rack is a bolt in piece.

No harm to structure. Take it out.

"luggage rack is a bolt in piece"

and screwed and riveted and glued -- and it does leave a big gap in the roof lining but it certainly adds a lot of room when it is gone. Trouble is it all takes up a lot of room on the ground outside.

Removing the floor AC ducts, lower decorative panel and the dimple plate behind it and the side seat rail also add quite a lot to the available space.

Don't remove the solid plate on the inside wall below the windows though as that is structural
