This Coach is sitting at my campground. It broke down about a mile down the road and the church group that owns it, and just bought it, say that the 8V71 was just overhauled.
There is no air cleaner, no sign that bolts have been removed from the lower part of the front of the motor, has blowby even out the air intake, sounds like it has a cylinder missing.
Acceleration is almost non existant and blows coolant on the ground from the exhaust.
This sounds and looks like a Walker coach.
See the photos I am attaching.

A couple more pictures.
If more are needed, I can get them in the morning.

Sorry Ed,
put the Fangs back in.
It's not abandoned I let them park here overnight.
I do know where there's a really good 6V92 that could take the place of the 8V71 though.
If I can talk to the owners, I can find out more.

Dallas, you just might find yourself with another project whether you want one or not!  If in fact it's a Church group they might find that they cannot afford to repower this thing.  Sounds like it has a cracked cylinder head for sure.  If there's Ethylene Glycol in the cooling system chances are at leat one side of the engine is virtually scrap.

It's a tragic scenario for sure... but as we found last week with the Flex...breakdowns can happen to anyone.  BK's having his share too as I understand.

WOW!

I used to drive this coach years back when I drove for Lenzner coach lines, out of Pittsburgh.

This is their customary paint job. recognise it anywhere...

It used to be a good runner...

I may have pix of it someplace when it was under the Lenzner times...

Yeah...I found it...This was taken at Gettysburg, PA...

I would love to get my hands on that bus again!

Thanks Shawn,
They came and got it with a lowboy early this morning.
It's at a shop in Maxton, NC now.
The poor engine didn't even have the air cleaner hooked up, in fact the air cleaner and filter housing was completely gone.
You could always call the number on the back of the coach and see if they want to sell it!
