have a mci 8  seems to be shutting it self off , the solenoid is not losing power, was wondering if any one knows where the ground wire goes to in the harness? also is it usually the electrical solenoid or the mechanical part of these that go bad?

Ground is through the coach. You probably have a loose connection somewhere.  Try connecting a hot wire directly to the solenoid to see if that also quits.  Good Luck, TomC

Could be your safety shutdown system. Hot engine sensors, low oil pressure, low water level, etc.

On our 73' MC-8, there are 2 wires coming out of the solenoid that go into the rear electrical panel.  One goes to the master switch terminal (don't have my book handy for the terminal number) and the other attches to a ground screw that fastens to the electrical panel case (right side of the case as you look straight into the panel).  Jack
