We pulled out of Kings Acres campground east of Regina on Wednesday morning.  Everything seemed fine, got rolling on #1 Hwy headed into the city and hit a red at the first light.  My passenger suggested I check the camera to see how the towed was doing.  No towed.  I could see the pavement but no towed.  Bad moment.  I checked the mirrors & it was clear to make a right turn so I started to make the turn and - lo and behold - the towed was still there.

As it turns out the lens on my camera was so obscured and so wet that it looked like Saskatchewan pavement but I was actually looking at the lens.  Once my heart returned to my chest I made 2 promises to myself - #1 that I will figure out some way to put in a removable lens in front of the camera lens so that I can clean it and #2 that I will put a little orange flag on a stick so I can see the d@mn towed in the mirrors.

Other than about 3 really bad minutes we have had a great trip.  Currently we are sitting in Tunnel Mountain campground at Banff.

LOL that's too funny Bob. I've had that happen a couple times running up and down the Coquiahalla Hwy in the winter. I put RainX on the glass window that's infront of the camera and carry a long handled window squeegee.

If you get over Merritt way stop in for a coffee. Snow at higher elevations tonight, 4000 ft +.

LMAO.  BTDT.

I like the idea of the flags. Been thinkiing about looking for some sort of fiberglass stick, similar in thickness and length to dual trucker CB antennas, and paint the tips flourescent orange, and
then attach them to the rear bumper. I figure a simple pipe bracket, at a slight upward angle. Then I could just slip them in before we tow, and pull them out when we're done. Would be cool if I could find the one with the little orange or red light at the tip.

Craig,
Go to your local truck parts supply house, or Truckers Toy Store (Chrome SShop) and check out the "Rookie Sticks" (bumper poles) they all kinds of styles and different style ends for the lit up part from flying eagles to skull heads! FWIW ~ ;D  BK  ;D

Hi Bob,

I hope you changed your shorts by now....

When I was towing my Jeep, I used one of thoose fiberglass orange rods that go on a childs bike. I then drilled out a golf

ball and attached it to the rod. I then attached two 1/4" wire clamps to the bumper so the rod can slide in and out from

the top of the bumper to my desired lenenth. Worked out very well. I did use an orange gulf ball...

Now that I tow the Yukon, I can see the Yukon's mirrors in my side view mirror of the bus.

Good Luck

Craig,
Look at these 2 sites: www.iowa80.com and www.75chromeshop.com  We always try to stop at 75 chrome when we go through Wildwood just to look at all the neat suff.  Paula tried out a nice air ride seat that she now wants for our bus.  $995 for the seat + air ride base. Aah, not yet.  We will stopping at 75 Chrome next Thursday or Friday to get our CB antennas trimmed to the new CB.  Jack

Jack I used to support the I-75 chrome shop fairly well back when I was truck'n ( I suppose when I quit they probably had to move back to the smaller building and lay-off 3 or 4 employees! LOL!).
Now as far as putting off that seat for Paula, you really shouldn't! (I could tell her about the distributor of the seat I had in my last 4 trks {when you pay $1,300.00 for a heated, massaging, tilt, recline, swivel, and everything else available back in '94, you tend to move it into the next trk even if it's black & the new truck has grey, brown or even tan interior! LOL!}, I'm sure she'd love those seats more!)! LOL! Hey like I always said if I'm gonna spend 14-18 hrs a day in it I might as well be comfortable! ;D  BK  ;D
