If mine had the same material with stainless as you I wouldn't touch it either. I like the look!

I still have the original material on our steps, but after so many PO's covering it up it is ruined for good.

It is easier to tell when light colored rubber is clean and this stuff is so tough it resists just about everything.

I would guess that GM knew exactly what to use as max durability for bus entrance floors.
