hey
i ordered some led lights for my rig , but they don't come with any switchs.i stoped at a electronic supply today and the switches either were to heavy to push or need to be mounted on a thin layer of material , i will be mounting the leds on foam and vynil material.  any thoughts on type of mounting and switchs.  thanks jt.

I mounted my switches on the wall like at home. I used automotive type rocker switches. Jerry

i am leaning this way too.  my nearest wall is 3/4 in oak material. i may be able to cut a nice hole with out to much splintering.the led lights sure are small compared to the old rv style lights. about a 1 3/4 round light.l left all the windows in my rig and have limited wall space to mount switche in
thank for reply jt.

I am going to attach a picture of the switches I used for my LED'S. I used the cheap wall switches that the various surplus places sell. The nice thing about them is that they don't take up a lot of room. As you can see from the stack of them I have on the kitchen wall each LED has its own switch. I have them wired to a breaker about 10 inches from the switches under that plywood panel. One hot wire from the breaker jumped to each switch, from the switch I ran one wire to the each LED. I can remove the plywood they are mounted in any time I want to service them. You could also cover the panel in cloth or vinyl under the switches if you want. (I may do that when I'm done)

Another option is to buy rocker switches from Waytek Wire, give yourself a company name (they deal wholesale only) and order all your parts at once paying with a credit card, and they will work with you, PLUS, you will get them much cheaper. The breakers and the mounting tabs that I have by the cockpit are from there and they were only about 30% to 50% of the price of the various auto parts suppliers. Waytek also sells wire, tools, relays, ect. and very nice to deal with. That mounting system they sell is only limited by the room you have, you can use it for one switch, or you can keep adding to it.
