Genset tank and fuel line ideas

Today, I was able to install a brand new 60 gallon genset fuel tank. I know its big but hear me out! I was given the new tank with a fuel sending unit and 12 volt brand Carter new electric fuel pump. It fits nicely in the bay and should provide several hours of genset time. I wanted to have an option to send fuel from this "standby/genset" tank to the main tank via the 12 volt pump whenever I might need just a bit more fuel. I wanted to T the fuel delievery line to the genset, which has its own fuel pump, and have the ability to send fuel forward to the main tank. I realize I would never do this when the genset was running.  The fuel return line will come back to the genset tank as required.

Hey, that sounds great.  The price is right, and it sounds like it will do what you want / need it to.  While 60 gallons is a lot for genset tank, with the fuel pump it can be your reserve for the big engine.

free is good but 60 gallons is big for a genset.

Go to www.northerntool.com and get a 12v fuel rated transfer pump.  If you use an electric engine fuel pump it will take a very long time to transfer any amount of fuel.  Good Luck, TomC
