Markers, as per your wiring diagram.

I have had numerous weird wiring gremlins in my 4104 wiring and still have a couple.

You'd sure love a wiring diagram...

Been there and done that.  It took three weeks of evenings and two full weekends to install our new dash.  Mostly because of some butcher.

Get the cd with the wiring diagrams.  They are a life saver.  All those wires are coded with color and differant hash marks.  Sometimes it doesn't make sense because there are relays and other things the wires run through.  Some items are operated with hot, others with ground.

I placed a tag on every wire stating it's color, hash pattern, and which post in the junction panel it came from.  Every wire for every function is differant.  Every color has a differant function.  You will not find a beige wire with two hash marks being used for more than one thing.  It might go from the junction panel to a switch and then on to a light.  But that will be it's only use.

When I got done,  I made an addendum to the wiring diagram and the junction panel and breaker panel post numbering so I could remember what I did.  I had trouble remembering the next day too.
