My Dina has Rockwell International brake part numbers.  How do I convert these part numbers since Rockwell International is gone?  I tried a Google search, but none of the part numbers can be found.

The drive axle drums are Rockwell International 61843-17 and the shoes are BZ-64991-13.

I don't think these part numbers exist anywhere.  They are not found on Meritor Parts Express.  There is a phone number I can call tomorrow.

I called Meritor today.  They can't find those part numbers either.  They want me to get the numbers off the axle assembly.  I know exactly where the tag is.

Meritor can chase it down with the axles group, if you read the numbers from the Dina parts book lot of time a manufacture will juggle the number around to make a priority for their product, I cannot find those numbers either I looked for 2 hours in my Rockwell books, I called MCI they had no luck finding those numbers, the guy wasn't very interested in helping either, he told me to call some outfit that sold parts for older MCI and Dina buses.Durabrake can match those drums by numbers or measurement they did for my Eagle  408-748-0400

I found a spot in the service manual that states that the drive drums are 15.5"x8".  I called Webb today and they said they don't make anything that is 15.5".

I found a Durabrake 15.5x8 drum.  I contacted Durabrake and they couldn't tell me if it is a Q brake drum.  I need to take measurements from the current drums to see if they will fit.

The shop that replaced my brakes in 2006 said they haven't yet been able to locate the drums this time.  They also had issues finding drums in 2006.

I will also need to find brake shoes.

I wonder about just buying a different bus, but there are some very good things about the Dina for what I do.  I like the torsion suspension as it has a ton of ground clearance.  It has a shorter wheelbase than many 45 foot buses so it turns easier.

It is also a bus that I know.  A different bus would likely require a bunch of work to get it road worthy just like my Dina required a bunch of work when I bought it.

I would strongly consider the Prevost H3-45 if I bought another bus.

The school here had a Dina that I changed the expensive Roto chambers out and did a brake job I don't remember the rear drums being that size, I got the WEBB drums from a outfit in Vegas for it .A  Prevost H-45 is a nice bus but those front end heavy suckers you don't get off the payment with, I have a good friend with the H-45 RV it has special tires on the front and tag only Michelin  makes cost him over 8 grand for the 4 tires recently
